I hope you and your family are healthy and safe during these testing times. I am very excited to convey my best wishes to all of you who have joined Sharda in this academic session. This is the most significant phase of your life, which is the first step towards your future. College is one of those endeavours that require substantial personal sacrifice with the realisation that the results will transform your future for yourself and your family. As you start your journey with different programmes and career paths, know that your faculty and I will always be ready to support you in making the optimal choice and are committed to providing excellence in teaching, research, and holistic development.

I want to assure you that Sharda University will not only be a learning experience but also be a journey of a lifetime providing overall holistic development while enabling you to explore different industries for career possibilities and consider opportunities confidently. The curricula of our programmes are relevant, timely, and continuously adapt to address new social and economic challenges in a global context while offering a unique path tailored for students with different backgrounds and career goals.

As the impact of the COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic continues to be felt extensively in many areas around the world, the importance of community cannot be overemphasized. In these unprecedented times, though regular academic activities -- mainly classroom teaching and laboratory research -have suffered owing to the distancing mandate, we have not let these constraints hamper our pursuit of knowledge, innovation, research and social outreach. Indeed, the pandemic has forced us to rethink the way we work and deliver. Our faculty members have successfully explored virtual classrooms and other digital aids to assure coherence in the teaching-learning process.

The Orientation Programme provides collaborative initiatives that facilitate the transition and engagement of new students and their families to the intellectual, cultural and social environment at Sharda University. All activities are designed by keeping the requirements of students in mind, to create an optimal education atmosphere that encourages student success and achievement.

Our colleagues continue to support our global community of students by working continuously and delivering instruction remotely. As a pioneer in providing overall holistic learning for more than ten years, we are blessed that the University already has robust systems in place to enable online and distance study.
